Stop by and see us

The time between Commencement and graduate summer session is traditionally pretty quiet here at the Wheelock College Library, but that doesn’t mean that you should stay away. Here’s a sampling of what we have to offer if you’re not in classes and don’t “need” the Library:

  • Museum passes: We have passes for free or discounted admission to a variety of area museums, including the Museum of Science, the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum, the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, and the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and the Stone Zoo in Stoneham. Ask for them at the Circulation Desk on Floor 1.
  • Newspapers and magazines: We have daily subscriptions to the Boston Globe and the New York Times, as well as a variety of other newspapers. We also have magazines you want to read, like Boston Magazine, Newsweek, Rolling Stone and Vogue, among others. Current issues are on the Lower Level; back issues can be found on Floor 3.
  • Videos and DVDs: While most of the collection is academic in nature, we do have a selection of feature films on Floor 2, as well as juvenile titles (including some Disney favorites) on Floor 2M.

Come on in and see what the Library can do to make your summer more enjoyable!

End of semester reminder

Monday, May 12 is the due date for all materials checked out by students that regularly have a 21-day checkout period. This includes books from the main and juvenile collections, juvenile magazines, curriculum materials, kits, CDs, cassettes, and juvenile videos. All other materials with shorter loan periods continue to be due as per their standard checkout times.

Are you graduating this semester? If you are, congratulations! Before you get your diploma, it is especially important for you to return your library books and take care of any fines or fees. If your account is not cleared by May 31, a hold will be placed on your academic transcripts. As alumni, you are always welcome to visit the library. Alumni have free borrowing privileges for one year after graduation. Following the year, there is a $20 annual alumni registration fee. Information about alumni borrowing privileges can be found on our website.

If you have questions about your library account, please contact the Circulation Desk at 617-879-2220 or
