Holiday hours Monday, April 21

In observance of Patriots Day, the Library will be open from 1 to 11 p.m. on Monday, April 21.

The day commemorates the beginnings of the American Revolution at Lexington and Concord. Minute Man National Historical Park is hosting a variety of events this weekend to mark the occasion. The North Bridge Visitor Center at the park is about 1.5 miles from the Concord station on the MBTA’s Fitchburg commuter rail service from North Station, and a guided bus tour of Lexington and Concord also makes stops at the Concord station. Visit the park’s site for more information.

Baseball’s back!

The Boston Red Sox start another season of games at Fenway Park tomorrow, and along with with all the pomp and circumstance that usually comes with the home opener, the players will receive their 2007 World Series rings.

The Library has a range of materials on baseball, which can be found by doing a keyword search for baseball in the catalog and limiting your results to Wheelock. Here’s a selection to get you started:

Here’s hoping for a long, successful season for your favorite team!
